Crime and Safety Awareness Day with Prison Me! No Way!

Year 9 students gained an insight into a world of crime and safety with Prison Me! No Way!
Going to jail, learning about harassment and sexual exploitation, arson, life in prison, death by dangerous driving and acting out a scene of ant-social behaviour in Confrontation Street was all part of the Crime and Safety Awareness Day.
TGS welcomed the Prison Me! No Way! Team, officials from The No Way Trust Limited, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Prison Officers from HMP Nottingham and HMP Hatfield, together with an inmate who talked about Choices and Consequences and why he was in prison. Steve Gough of the Naomi Cheri Gough Foundation really moved students to tears when he told them about his daughter’s tragic death at the age of 19 and how a young person can lose their life in a split second. “What a fantastic day and it really made me sit up and think about many things in life,” said Alex. “Mr Gough really made me cry with his powerful story about his daughter.”
