Double Semi-Final Success for Rugby Boys

First it was the success of the Year 8 boys as they reached the semi-final of the County Cup.
Now the Year 7 rugby boys at Tadcaster Grammar School are having their own celebration as they succeed in reaching not one, but two semi-finals – way to go lads!
A double victory sees them into the semi-finals of both the Yorkshire Cup (Rugby Union) and Rugby League Cup.
Results achieved on the way up the table are as follows:
Rugby Union
Ermysted’s Grammar 7-5
Driffield 33-7
Rodillian Academy 36-33

Rugby League

Castleford ‘B’ Team 40-4
Spen Valley 20-8
Canon Lee – 34-12

“The boys have played both codes of rugby since September and have not lost since forming the Year 7 team,” said PE teacher and coach Craig Whish. “They have worked extremely hard to adapt their skill set to both codes of rugby and reach the semi-finals in both,” he added.
The Rugby Union game will be against St John Fisher on Wednesday 25 February at 2pm at Wetherby RUFC and the team will play Brigshaw or South Holderness in the next Rugby League clash (date to be confirmed).
